My guppies in my bedroom tank had babies this morning, I am looking forward to seeing them grow up. Normally I don't post about these things but for this particular tank it has been what seems like forever since this particular tank has had baby guppy fry in it - the mother took her time and now w..
Hi Daniel, Congratulations!!!! How great to hear happy news rather than the usual sick/dying fish :-) I always like to see fry suddenly turn up in the tank - shows the fish are happy How many have y..
I am guesstimating around 20 to 30 fry - pretty large in my experience. Usually its a brood size of 9 or 10. They're doing great and are happy. I am happy too because I got the maintenance done (wat..

I was looking at the two snails in my 20 G and I noticed a tiny fish behind the powerhead! I looked around and found another one. I thought my Guppy was pregnant but yesterday I had noticed that she looked slimmer and her gravid spot smaller. I couldn't find any babies so I just figured that i..
Baby guppies are large enough to eat finely crushed flake food. They also like brine shrimp, but the shrimp aren't really necessary. Keith J.
Okay thanks :-) I have both flakes and frozen brine shrimp. Is frozen okay? Maybe I should just stick to the flakes. I found four babies so far. I think that's all of them. Karen Keith J. wrote:

Smash up flake food really fine before you drop it into the tank. -- - Charles - -does not play well with others

Got 2 male guppies and 3 females and the buggers are at it already ;-) How many fry should I be expecting from 1 female does anyone know round abouts? I have pulled some of the plastic plants out to let them float which I hear should give them a better chance of survival.. I have 2 red finned shar..
Depends on the size of the females, but 20 to 30 every month would not be unreasonable to expect. AFAIK, they typically start dropping them near the surface early in the morning, but then might move..
I don't want crowd control :-( I want lots of colurful guppies swimming round... I will have to keep my swordtails away then rather than the sharks then?? Does anyone know of a homemade erm baby gup..
I wouldnt worry about the fry too much. I had 2 guppies which became one. The female that was left behind kept producing babies long after the male was gone. I guess she stored the 'good stuff' for ..
;-) not be which I then?? like a I'm not sure how effective RT sharks are at 'crowd-control'. Swordtails also eat their own fry, and Guppy fry are smaller than Swordtail fry, ergo - their effective..

baby guppies question - I managed to put my female guppy into a separate floating breeded trap about 2 hrs before she had little ones, so I now have about 12-14 babies. I have had little ones before, but this time I was able to see about 1/2 dozen being born. My question is, ar...
